Going to Pennsylvania for my brother’s wedding, I was paging through an old poetry journal and thought I’d share this one for today. When I wrote it at the age of 19, I thought of it as a song for a girl becoming a consecrated virgin, but my sister saw it as a wedding song and set it to music. (My brother Martin Doman covered it too.) Either way, here it is.
